Women's Tennis Blanked by Bulls

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.— The Barry University women’s tennis team was blanked by Division I Buffalo on Tuesday afternoon, losing 9-0 at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.
 
With a depleted roster, the Bucs (6-4) had difficulties all day.  In doubles action Angie Werschel and Yulia Kashelkina lost 8-5 to Denise Harijanto and Diana Popescu in the first slot.  In number two doubles, Lamie Contreras and Mei-Jing Ang lost to Adi Petrova and Diana Toia 8-0. The Bucs didn’t field a third doubles team, losing in the three spot by default.
 
The Bucs had no better luck in singles as they were unable to take any points from the Bulls (4-4).  Like doubles, the Bucs defaulted in the sixth spot in singles.
 
The Bucs, who are ranked #15 nationally, return to action at home tomorrow afternoon against Bucknell at 3:00 pm.
