MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – With Charley Short in command on the mound, all the Bucs needed were a few runs, as the Barry baseball team tallied just enough to defeat Florida Tech, 4-2, Sunday afternoon at Feinbloom Field in Sunshine State Conference action.

Jake Koch matched Short pitch-for-pitch, as the two kept the game scoreless into the sixth inning.
Yan Gomes got the Barry sixth going by singling with one out and later advancing to second on a wild pitch.
After a fly out, Manny Pedrozo came through with a clutch two-out single plating Gomes for the 1-0 lead.

Pedrozo once again came through in the eighth, as this time he singled home Nick Shaw to expand the lead to two.
Barry would continue to add runs in the inning, as Mitch Rodriguez tallied an RBI single and Pedrozo came home on a throwing error to make it 4-0.

Florida Tech would tally a pair in the ninth, but Brian Milanes was able to record the final outs to preserve the win for Short.

Short now improves to 7-0 on the season, as the junior right-hander pitched eight shutout innings, allowing just four hits, while striking out six and walking two.

Pedrozo finished 2-for-3 at the plate, tallying two big RBI in the victory.

The Bucs will slide out of SSC action for their next game when they welcome in Mercy on Tuesday with game time set for 6 p.m.
