ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Barry University baseball team jumped back into Sunshine State Conference play with a bang, racking up another double-digit performance in a 10-2 win over Eckerd Friday night.

Barry (25-3, 6-1 SSC) started strong in the first frame, as Manny Pedrozo was hit-by-pitch to bring across the first run of the game.

The Bucs put the game out of reach in the sixth inning, as the Bucs plated six in the inning.

Nick Shaw started the big inning, as his two-run double plated Chris Leon and Joel Keefe to expand the lead to five.
Yan Gomes completed the inning with a towering three-run homer to left field to put the game out of reach.

Bobby Hernandez was solid on the mound, as the senior right-hander tallied his fourth win of the season after allowing just one earned run in seven innings, while striking out five.

Barry will continue their three-game series with Eckerd with a doubleheader on Saturday with the first game beginning at 1 p.m.
