WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- The Barry University women's golf team couldn't climb the leaderboard on the final round of the Sunshine State Conference Championships Tuesday afternoon, remaining in fifth.

Barry fired a 937 (309-311-317) to finish 35-strokes behind SSC Champion Rollins College which won the tournament by seven-strokes over Nova Southeastern.

Johanna Soderstrom remained strong the entire way for the Bucs, as she finished with a 232 (75-74-83) to finish in a tie for 12th overall.

Isadora Stapff had a solid final round, as she fired a 77 which was the best on the team to help bring her into a tie for 15th with a 236 (81-78-77).

Anna Haglind and Lizzi Over each finish in a tie for 19th with both firing a 237. Anne Fourdraine rounded out the team scoring with a 246 (80-87-79) to finish in 29th.

Joanna Coe of Rollins won the SSC Tournament with a 223 and won a playoff over teammate Brianna Seo and Nova's Maria Garcia Austt.

The Bucs will now wait word on a regional birth for regionals that will take place May 2-5 in Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla., on the course of Mission Inn Resort.

Bucs In Fifth After Two

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- Florida Southern made a strong charge in the second round to overtake the Barry University women's golf team for fourth, as the Bucs now sit in fifth heading into the final round after Monday's play of the Sunshine State Conference Championships.

Barry shot a few strokes behind their first round total to finish with a 620 (309-311), which has the Bucs sitting 22-shots behind Rollins College for first.

Lynn University 607 (300-307) sits in a solid second overall, while Nova Southeastern 616 and Florida Southern 619 are closely bunched with Barry as just four-strokes seperate the three teams.

Johanna Soderstrom remains in the lead for the Bucs, as she trimmed another stroke off her first round results to finish in a tie for third with a 149 (75-74).

Anna Haglind stayed steady, as she once again shot a 78 to finish with a 156 (78-78) which has her in a tie for 16th.

Lizzi Over slide into a tie for 19th with a 157 (76-81), while Isadora Stapff had a solid second round of 78 to post a two round total of 159 (81-78). Anne Fourdraine rounds out the team with a 167 (80-87) which has her in 30th.

Brianna Seo of Rollins leads everyone individually with a 147 (73-74).

Barry will conclude the SSC CHampionships with the final round Tuesday morning.

Women's Golf In Fourth After First Round

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Barry University women’s golf team sits in fourth after the first round of the Sunshine State Conference Championships.

Barry’s 309 is currently 11-strokes off the pace set by Rollins College’s 298.

Lynn University, 300, and Nova Southeastern, 304, are second and third, respectively.

Senior Johanna Soderstrom is off to one of her strongest starts of the season, as she fired a 75 (37-38) to pace the way for the Bucs and currently has her in a tie for fifth overall.

Freshman Lizzi Over also found her stroke, as she is in a tie for ninth after her first round of 76 (39-37).
Anna Haglind 78 (40-38), Anne Fourdraine 80 (41-39) and Isadora Stapff 81 (39-42) all remain in the chase, as they sit in 15th, 22nd and 25th, respectively.

Joanna Coe of Rollins and Katy McNicoll of Lynn remain tied for the top spot as each fired a 73.

Barry will wrap up second round play today and finish the SSC Championship tomorrow morning.
