Women's Soccer Drops Non-Conference Tilt To The Seahawks

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers dropped a 3-1 non-conference matchup to NAIA #6-ranked Northwood at Buccaneer Field on Friday night.
 
The Bucs (1-3-0) grabbed an early lead in the 19th minute. Michelle Tarasiuk ripped a shot from 19 yards out that Seahawk keeper Mie Moeller managed to deflect, but it bounced right to the feet of Sarah Wolfer and quickly found the back of the empty net for a 1-0 lead.
 
Lisa Ohberg knotted the game at 1-1 in the 39th minute, breaking away down the left sideline and beating Buccaneer keeper Emily Brunschweiler one-on-one.
 
With the game tied 1-1 at the half, the Seahawks (3-1-0) put in a pair of goals, one each from Sofia Soras and Adi Jurman.
 
Both team had 11 shots on goal as Brunschweiler had eight saves for Barry and Moeller made 10 for Northwood.
 
The Bucs host cross-town rival St. Thomas on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 5:00 pm.
