MIAMI SHORES—After an early lead for the Bucs men’s soccer team the Eckerd Tritons rallied in the second half with two goals to beat Barry 2-1 on Saturday.

The solo Barry (3-3-1, 0-1 SSC) goal came from the foot of junior Sascha Koettig at the 21:38 mark. Koettig fielded a well placed header from senior Ryan Alexander and poked the ball past the sliding Eckerd goalkeeper. The goal is Koettig’s second on the year. Alexander’s assist gives him three which ties him for first on the team.
The first half was dominated by the Bucs as Barry gave up only four shots and allowed one corner kick while taking 10 shots for themselves. Barry also took five corner kicks during the first period.

The Triton goals came during the 65th minute from a cross that was headed in and the second goal was scored during the 68th minute. The Eckerd game winning goal came from a free kick 20 yards out that deflected off of a Barry player who was set up in the wall.

Leading the way in shots for the Bucs was sophomore Mark Anderson with six followed by sophomore Randy Taylor with four.

The next action for Barry is Tuesday against conference foe Nova Southeastern at home at 7:00 p.m.
