BOCA RATON, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers closed out the women’s soccer season with a tough 2-0 loss to the Lynn Knights on Wednesday afternoon at the McCusker Sports Complex.

The Knights’ (9-8-0, 3-5-0 SSC) Sarah Mendelsberg scored twice, the first coming less than 10 minutes before the half and the last on a breakaway out of the back with less than five minutes to play.

The Bucs (5-12-0, 2-6-0 SSC) actually out-shot the Knights on goal, putting seven shots on frame to the Knights’ six. But Kelsey Butler made six saves and Amanda Romeo-Gallo swept a shot by Melissa Madrid off the line in the 72nd minute to preserve a 1-0 lead.

Emily Pratt took the loss in goal for the Bucs, making four saves.
