MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry University women’s basketball team dropped a 68-60 loss to the Florida Southern Mocs on Saturday afternoon in the Health & Sports Center.
The Bucs ran with the Mocs through the first five minutes of the game, tied 10-10 with 15:34 remaining. The Mocs would go on a 15-8 scoring run to take a 25-18 lead with 8:43 remaining in the first.
The Bucs cut the lead to one, 29-28, off a Mariessa Green layup, but would get outscored eight to three over the last four minutes to enter halftime down 37-31.
The Mocs held multiple leads throughout the second half, reaching as high as 12 twice. The Bucs cut it to four, 64-60, with :35 seconds remaining, but were unable to catch the Mocs. The Bucs would go on to lose 68-60.
For the Bucs, Greene scored her third double-double of the season, grabbing 11 boards and scoring 31 points. Christina Thompson chipped in with 10 points and Shanna Suttington had eight.
The Bucs return to action on Friday, Dec. 11 at home against Northwood at 6:00 pm.
