OPA LOCKA, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers swept the season series from the Florida Memorial Lions with a 77-68 win in men’s basketball action in the Chester Robinson Center on Wednesday night.
The Lions (2-7) led 44-42 at the 11:10 mark of the second half after a three-pointer from Anthony Baggs. But the Bucs (6-1) responded with a 17-2 run over the next six minutes to take a 59-46 lead on layup by Marvin Davis at 4:58.
The Lions trimmed the lead to as little as five points before the Bucs settled for the nine-point win.
Davis led all scorers with 22 points, while Erick Nsangou added 17, Tony Dennison had 16 and Bryan Chiverton had 10 points in a balanced attack for the Bucs. George Gray led the Lions with 21 points, while Matthew Rolle had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bucs will travel on Saturday, Dec. 12 to take on St. Thomas at 7:00 pm in the Bobcats’ new arena, The Fernandez Center.
