MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry University men’s team knocked off Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday afternoon, beating the Sailfish 66-55 in the Health and Sports Center.
The Bucs (14-7) got out to an 18-9 lead with 8:42 remaining in the first half when Tony Dennison cut through the lane and hit a layup. The Sailfish (2-21) went on an 18-9 run over the next five minutes to tie the game at 27-27.
Palm Beach Atlantic would enter halftime up 32-29.
In the second half, the Bucs used an 8-5 run to regain the lead off of a Willie Whitfield free-throw.
Barry remained dominant down the stretch and took a 15-point lead off of two Zack Trapp free-throws. The Bucs went on to win 66-55.
Erick Nsangou led all scorers with 13. Nsangou grabbed nine rebounds as well. Trapp, Dennison, Evan White, and Brian Chiverton had 10 apiece for the Bucs.
Barry returns to action on Wednesday, February 10 when they host Rollins at home at 7:30 pm.
