ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—The second-ranked Barry Buccaneers shutout the Eckerd Tritons 9-0 at the Turley Athletic Complex on Sunday.
 
A day after utilizing nine players against Saint Leo, the Bucs used eight different players against the Tritons in gaining the sweep.
 
In doubles, Emanuel Fraitzl and Andrew Sharnov, playing for the first time this season at number one, defeated Ben Maxwell and Adam Hopkins 8-2.
 
Jajub Fejfar and Simon Raagaard beat Hisa Sato and Jon Bonner 8-5 at number two, while David Barragan and Ruben Penate won 8-6 over Aaron Kleefield and JP. Walker.
 
In singles, the Bucs trotted out a new lineup for the third straight match on the current road trip. At number one, #15 Ales Svigelj beat Maxwell 6-3, 6-1. Max Wimmer, ranked #34, split sets with Sato at number two, winning 7-5 and falling 2-6, but bounced back to win the super tie-breaker 10-2.
 
Fejfar took Hopkins in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3 at number three, while Raagaard was also pushed to three sets at number four by Erik Thunberg, winning 6-1, 5-7, 10-7.
 
At the bottom two flights, the Bucs won in straight sets. Barragan defeated Bonner 6-4, 6-1 at five and Penate knocked off Kleefield 6-2, 6-4 at six.
 
The Bucs will re-match with the Concordia (N.Y.) Clippers on Monday at Rollins College’s Bert Martin Tennis Center. The Bucs defeated the Clippers 5-4 in the semifinals of the 2009 NCAA Division II National Tournament at Sanlando Park.
