Women's Golf Finishes Third At Saint Leo

Lake Jovita, Fla.—The Barry University women’s golf team finished up competition at the Saint Leo Invitational on Monday afternoon. The Bucs, who were in fourth place after the first round, finished third overall after posting a second-round 304. For the tournament, Barry finished with a 634 (330-304).
 
“It was a really great day,” head coach Gina Umeck said. “To finish third without Isa [Isadora Stapff] in the lineup really shows our depth. It’s good to see everyone chipping in.”
 
Taylor Babcock led the way for the Bucs. Babcock finished tied for second overall with a 152 (80-72). Babcock’s second-round 72 was the lowest individual round of the tournament.
 
“Taylor really capitalized on her upward momentum today,” head coach Gina Umeck said. “She made the best of her opportunity to be a good teammate and a good leader.”
 
Lizzi Over was the next highest Buccaneer finisher. Over fired a two-round 159 (83-76) to finish tied for 12th. Annie Fourdraine posted a 163 (84-79) for the tournament. Fourdraine finished in 17th place.
 
Sophie Weilguni and Louise Perulf rounded out the Buccaneer finishers. Weilguni finished tied for 20th with a 165 (88-77) while Perulf shot a 167 (83-84).
 
Florida Southern took home the team title with a 607 (305-302). Host Saint Leo finished second with a 622 (318-304).
 
The Bucs return to action on Tuesday, October 26 when they travel to St. Augustine to take part in the Flagler Fall Slam.
