Women's Soccer Drops 3-1 Decision To Panthers

MELBOURNE, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers women’s soccer team dropped a 3-1 Sunshine State Conference decision to the Florida Tech Panthers at Rick Stotler Field on Sunday.

The Bucs’ Melissa Madrid scored the only goal for Barry (7-8-1, 2-4-1 SSC) on a free kick from 18 yards out in the 18th minute that tied the game 1-1.

The Panthers (7-5-1, 4-2-1 SSC) got two goals from Casey Lademann, including the game-winner in the 19th minute, and one from Megan Stone. Christine Ragona had two assists.

Mist Eliasdottir (7-5-1) had eight saves for the Panthers to earn her seventh win as the Bucs out-shot the Panthers 18-15, including 9-7 on goal. Emily Brunnschweiler had three saves for Barry and Morgan Ault added a team save.

The Bucs close out the SSC schedule on Thursday, Oct. 28 at Eckerd at 7:00 pm and the regular season at St. Thomas on Sunday, Oct. 31.
