BOCA RATON, Fla.—The Barry University volleyball team dropped a three-set heartbreaker (17-25, 18-25, 17-25) to the Lynn University Knights on Wednesday evening. The Bucs combined for a slim .147 attack percentage where as Lynn hit .371 for the evening.
 
In the first set Barry fell behind early, going down 11-4 and 16-10. The Bucs went on a 6-3 run to get close at 19-16, but Lynn (17-7, 8-3) stole seven of the final eight points to win 25-17.
 
In the second set the teams were tied through 11-11 before Lynn went on a 9-4 run to go up 20-15. The Knights went on to take set two 25-18.
 
In the third set, Lynn again jumped out to an early lead of 10-5. The Knights continued pressing and took 15 of the final 27 points to win 25-17.
 
For the Bucs, Julia Teixeira had 13 kills while Ady Alcantara and Lanie Muys combined for 16. Libby Walter had 32 assists while Amie Manke and Walter had 8 digs apiece.
 
With the loss, Barry moves to 13-4 overall and 8-3 in the Sunshine State Conference.
 
The Bucs, who are ranked third in the most recent South Region poll, return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Florida Tech at 4:00 pm.
