Men's Basketball Out-Races Broncos For Second Win

MELBOURNE, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers clicked on all cylinders to knock off the Fayetteville State Broncos 91-75 in the Florida Tech Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday in the Clemente Center.

The Bucs (2-4) shot a blistering 72.0 percent from the floor in the second half, putting six players in double-figures, led by Zack Trapp with 20 points. Willie Whitfield added 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Evan White and Emory Bennett had 16 each and Marvin Davis and Vladimir Raymonvil 10 each. For Bennett, it was a career-high in his first start.

The Bucs led 36-29 at the break, but opened the second period with a 19-7 run in the first five minutes to push the lead to 55-38 on a fastbreak layup by Davis. Barry pushed the lead to as many as 23 points before settling for the 16-point win.

Jarmel Baxter and Sidney Evans led the Broncos (2-2) with 13 points each, while Ariel Robinson added 12.

The Bucs open Sunshine State Conference play on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 4:00 pm at home against the Tampa Spartans.
