Women's Basketball Chomped By Sharks

DAVIE, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers dropped their fourth game in a row with an 80-71 loss to the Nova Southeastern Sharks in the University Center on Wednesday night in Sunshine State Conference women’s basketball action.
 
The Sharks (10-3, 3-1 SSC) jumped out to a big lead 16-2 after the first four minutes and, though the Bucs (7-7, 0-5 SSC) cut the lead to four points on several occasions, never trailed in the game.
 
Yvonne Houston led the Bucs with 17 points. Jen Mitchell added 14 off the bench, while Adrienne Hicks (11) and Shanna Suttington (10) also scored in double figures as the Bucs matched their season-high with 71 points.
 
Freshman Jasmine Wilkins led the Sharks with 22 points, while Quinessa Johnson had 14 and Stephanie Sarosi added 13.
 
The Bucs travel to Melbourne, Fla., on Saturday, Jan. 15 to face the Florida Tech Panthers in the Clemente Center.
