MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers scored a doubleheader sweep of the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish in softball action at Buccaneer Field on Tuesday night, winning game one 6-0 and game two 5-3.

In the first game, Alyssa Goldsmith got the Bucs (23-6) on the board in the third inning with a two-run double and Brooke Asher followed one hit later with a two-run homer, her fourth of the year. Cassy Zamora capped the scoring in the fourth inning by stealing home on a busted squeeze play.

The nightcap was a see-saw affair. The Bucs tallied twice in the first inning. Sarah Broeseker led off with a walk and three straight singles by Grace Collins, Goldsmith and Jessica Tabor brought one run across. After two outs,Paula Mackin was hit by a pitch to score Goldsmith.

The Sailfish struck back in the top of the second. Erica Walters doubled and Karli Newton smashed a homer to center.

After Goldsmith picked up a RBI with a bases-loaded walk in the fourth, PBA knotted it up at 3-3 on two walks and two errors in the fifth.

The Bucs finally took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth. Mackin led off with a single and pinch-runner Stephany Soto moved to second one out later on a walk to Natalia Ojeda. Broeseker singled up the middle to drive in Soto and Ojeda came home on a single by Goldsmith.
