King Deals with Leon and Dwelly Delivering for Baseball

LAKE WORTH, Fla.—The Barry baseball team took a solid 6-3 regional win over the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish on Tuesday.

Chris Leon and Drew Dwelly each blasted two-run home runs in the win and Lyndon added a 2-3 night with an RBI.

In the top of the second inning, the Bucs drew first blood. Leon lifted his third home run of the season on a monstrous shot to let field to score Manny Pedrozo and make it a 2-0 game.

Then in the third inning Adrian English started off the frame with a one-out single to second base. After Matt Petty drew a walk, Coleman singled to left field to collect his eighth two-out RBI of the year and give the Bucs a 3-0 advantage.

Palm Beach Atlantic answered with two runs in the bottom of the third to cut the Barry lead down to one at 3-2. Then in the top of the fourth, Dwelly launched his 14th home run of the year down the left field line to give the Bucs the 5-2 tilt.

Barry added another run in the top of the seventh on a Pedrozo single down the right field line to score Coleman and the Sailfish also collected a run in the seventh to take the score to Barry 6, PBA 3.

Tyler King took the start for Barry and went seven innings, gave up 10 hits, three runs, and struck out three while earning his first win of the year. T.J. Mullins checked into the game in the eighth and pitched a perfect inning. Jordan Wellander relieved Mullins and delivered a perfect ninth to close out the game.

Dean Green did not belt a hit and snapped a 21-game hitting streak.

The next game for Barry is Friday, April 29 against Lynn at Feinbloom Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Live coverage can always be heard on the Buccaneer Broadcasting Network starting just before the first pitch.
