MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Mark Anderson tied a career-high with four more goals as the Barry Buccaneers clobbered the St. Thomas Bobcats 4-1 in men’s soccer action at Buccaneer Field Wednesday night.

Anderson posted a natural hat-trick in the first half, scoring in the 10th, 26th and 28th minutes for a 3-0 lead at the break for the Bucs (7-0-0).

Early in the period, Kendall Sealy fed the ball to Guillerme Oliveira who slipped a pass through the middle of the Bobcats’ defense to a wide open Anderson for the goal.

In the 26th minute, Houghton Kinsman played a long ball across from right to left, finding Randy Taylor near the baseline. Taylor played the ball back to Anderson near the top of the six-yard box and he rocketed a shot past Bobcat keeper Adam Green.

Less than three minutes later, Oliveira reprised his assist role, feeding Anderson up the middle to a one-on-one chance with Green and Anderson converted the chance.

In the second half, both teams put in one goal. The Bobcats (2-6-0) pulled to within 3-1 when Orlando Lawrence ripped a shot over the head of Barry keeper Johnny Rodrigues in the 61st minute.

Anderson completed his record-tying performance with a goal in the 65th minute. Eyal Schechter took a pass slightly behind him and boomed a shot off the crossbar, but Anderson was there to collect the rebound and fired it in from just outside the penalty box.

Rodrigues improved to 7-0 on the season with the win, making three saves. Green took the loss for the Bobcats. He made three saves of his own before giving way to back up Facundo Torino who made two saves during his shift.

The Bucs travel to Winter Park, Fla., to take on Rollins College on Saturday, Sept. 24 with kick off set for 7:30 pm. The Buccaneer women will face the Tars immediately before, with that game starting at 5:00 pm.
