Men's Soccer Plays To Scoreless Draw With Tritons

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The ninth-ranked Barry Buccaneers and the Eckerd Tritons played to a scoreless draw at Buccaneer Field on Saturday night.

The teams were evenly matched for most of the game, with Barry holding a narrow 17-16 edge in shots and 8-6 on goal. Barry’s Mark Anderson had 11 shots including seven on goal.

Barry’s Johnny Rodrigues and Eckerd’s Toni Virtanen earned the shutouts in goal. Rodrigues stopped all six shots on goal by the Tritons (6-3-1, 1-1-1 SSC), while Virtanen also had six saves and was helped out by his backs with two more.

The Bucs host Florida Tech on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 7:00 pm.
