MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers dropped a 3-2 decision to the 18th-ranked Florida Tech Panthers on Wednesday night at Buccaneer Field.

Casey Lademann scored with 2:19 left in the first overtime period after Chelsea Pushman got around and behind the Buccaneer defense and found Lademann unmarked in the six-yard box.

After Paula Lillsjo gave the Panthers (8-2-0, 2-2-0 SSC) an early lead, Melissa Madrid sent the Bucs (4-6-0, 1-3-0 SSC) into the intermission with a lead after she scored twice in 0:18 seconds on a pair of free kicks. After Emma Karp was taken down by Anne-Marie Helgestad just outside of the 18-yard box, Madrid drove the ensuing free kick past Panther keeper Mist Eliasdottir to even the match. Just 18 second later, Sarah Wolfer was dragged down by Brittany Rainbow just inside the box and Madrid converted the penalty kick.

Madrid's two goals set a school record for fastest goals by the same player.

Pushman knotted the game at 2-2 just five minutes into the second period knocking a ball off the bottom of the cross bar and over the line.

Eliasdottir had three saves to improve to 8-2. Barry’s Melissa Toledo recorded a career-high 14 saves, the third-highest total in program history, but fell to 2-3.

The Bucs host the Eckerd Tritons at 6:00 pm on Saturday, Oct. 6 in their next outing.
