MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers continued their outstanding defensive play with a 66-47 win over the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish on Wednesday night in the Health & Sports Center.

Danielle DeBerry scored a season-high 19 points, while Colette Eule came off the bench to chip in 11 points to lead the Bucs (13-6) to their fourth straight win.

The Bucs took a 10-point lead with 4:48 left in the first period on DeBerry’s three-pointer and carried a 12-point lead, 35-23, into the locker room at halftime. The Bucs out-scored the Sailfish (7-15) 13-0 from the bench in the period.

PBA stormed out of the locker room and trimmed the lead to 37-30 after a jumper by Dolberry at the 15:26 mark. But that was as close as they would get as the Bucs rolled off an 11-0 run, capped by Jen Mitchell’s three-pointer at 10:41. Another DeBerry trey at 5:32 gave the Bucs a 22-point lead, their biggest of the night at 58-36.

Dolberry led the ‘Fish with 12 points, while Jordan Kong added 11 and Selethia Jackson had 10.

The Bucs wade back into conference play on Saturday, Feb. 4 as they travel to Tampa to take on the Spartans in the Martinez Center. The game action can be seen at UTSpartans.com.
