No. 2 Bucs Men's Tennis Down Panthers

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- In search of a spark, Barry University shuffled its lineup around Monday. What resulted was a Buccaneers 7-2 victory over Sunshine State Conference foe Florida Tech at Buccaneer Tennis Center.

The No. 2 Bucs (7-1, 4-0 SSC) won two of the three doubles matches in an ever-changing look to its lineup. Ollie Lemaitre and Leo Vivas held on to win the No. 1 pairs match. Marco Mokrzycki and Francisco Sigaud, playing for the first time as a tandem, won the No. 2 flight.

Eighth-ranked Mokrzycki beat James McLane, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 singles. Romain Costamagna beat Barry Dylewski, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 2. Fabian Groetsch posted a 6-3, 6-4 win over Beau Fieldsend at the No. 3 spot.

Lemaitre had a 6-4, 6-3 win over Kermit Strachan at No. 5. Vivas beat D.J. Pate, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 5.

The Panthers won the No. 3 doubles match and No 6 singles flight.

Barry hosts Valdosta State in a quality region match Saturday at 10 a.m.
