MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry women's tennis match with NCAA Division I North Florida was cancelled due to developing weather patterns Sunday.

The match will not be made up.

"It's disappointing in the regard that UNF is a very good team, and they will be a great challenge for us," coach Avi Kigel said.

Barry, ranked No. 2 in the nation, will head to San Diego, departing Monday, for three matches at UC San Diego this week. The Bucs play Fresno Pacific Wednesday, UC San Diego Thursday and Hawai'i Pacific Friday.

HPU is ranked No. 5 in the nation in Division II. UC San Diego owns the No. 19 ranking. Hawai'i Pacific's Zora Vickova is ranked No. 8 in singles. Celina Goetti is No. 27. Fresno Pacific is No. 5 in NAIA. Goetti and Vickova are tied with Barry's Vojka Lukic and Linda Fritschken as the No. 15-ranked doubles team in Division II.

"It's a really good trip in the regard that we're playing three tough teams, back-to-back, which is what we need to do to win a conference championship or a national championship," Kigel said. "It's a good challenge, and it will prepare us for the second part of the semester. It will prepare us for playing back-to-back-to-back, which is what we'll need for playing at a high level in the postseason."
