BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Chalk another one up.

Barry women's tennis team ran its winning streak to 15 straight this season when the No. 2 Buccaneers beat No. 3 Lynn, 6-3, Saturday on the road.

"We're very excited," Barry coach Avi Kigel said. "Now we're looking forward to finish our winning streak and hopefully win the next one."

Barry (15-0, 6-0 Sunshine State Conference) took care of business in what looks to be a clincher to win the league regular season title. Lynn (11-3, 4-1) shares the same league mark as Nova Southeastern.

The Bucs won two of the doubles matches as Vojka Lukic and Julie Stas posted an 8-2 victory at No. 2 pairs. Linda Fritschken and Caroline Wendling picked up an 8-3 win at No. 3.

"The girls came out with a little energy in doubles and played really well," Kigel said. "It gave us a lot of confidence going into singles."

Barry's Mona Mansour won the No. 6 singles match when Aleks Vukadinovic retired with Mansour leading 6-0, 3-0 in the second set. Wendling beat Ana Kriz, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5 singles. Cristy Valladares won 6-2, 6-3 over Kim Przeszlowski at No. 3 to give the Bucs the match victory.

"We all have to kind of come together and play well as a team, and we did," Kigel said.

Lukic beat Ioanna Ivan, 6-2, 7-5 at No. 1 singles. It was the No. 5-ranked Ivan's first loss of the season.

Lynn won the No. 2 and 4 singles and No. 1 doubles matches.

"It was a classic match between two of the best teams in the country," Kigel said. "It's a very good win. It always feels good to beat one of the best teams in the country."
