MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The fourth-ranked Barry Buccaneers swept a non-conference softball doubleheader from the St. Thomas Bobcats 2-1 and 5-0 at Buccaneer Field on Tuesday evening.

The Bucs (33-7) pushed across the winning run in the sixth. Jessica Tabor singled to start things off and Cassy Zamora came in to run. After a bunt moved her to second, Zamora swiped third and Kelly Martinez slapped a single past the third baseman to bring her home.

Alexis Yohe (12-3) picked the win for the Bucs. She went the distance, surrendering a run on four hits and two walks and struck out five. Brenda Emerson (6-5) took the loss. She gave up four hits, walked three and struck out three.

In the nightcap, the Bucs built a 5-0 lead and Brianna Smith (18-4) held on for her 11th shutout of the season, tying her for the national lead with two other pitchers. Smith scattered four hits and did not issue a walk. She struck out six.

Barry tacked on two more in the fourth. Collins doubled into left center and took third when Borrelli mishandled the ball. Smith walked and both advanced on a passed ball by Sacramento, with Smith ending up at third. Alyssa Goldsmith cashed in the run with a sacrifice fly.

Prieto worked six innings, allowing eight hits and eight walks. Three of her five runs were earned.
