PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Barry University men's tennis coach George Samuel is still looking for something better.

"I'm still not satisfied," said Samuel, a 22-year veteran at the school. "We've got to do better. We still have some more time to improve."

The No. 3 Buccaneers beat No. 15 St. Edward's, 6-0, on a rain-delayed match at the White Sands Invitational hosted by West Florida Thursday. The tournament continues through Saturday.

Barry (17-3) swept all three doubles points, which the Bucs had done just once since Feb. 25.

"Finally we won three doubles in a row," Barry coach George Samuel said.

Fabian Groetsch and Daniel Schmidt escaped with a 9-7 win over No. 14-ranked Ned Boone and Eduardo Bencke, 9-7, at No. 1 doubles. No. 13 Marco Mokrzycki and Leo Vivas got past Pedro Bronstrup and James Rogers, 8-5, at No. 2 pairs. At the No. 3 flight, Ollie Lemaitre and Romain Costamagna beat Jon Stockdale and Adrian Garza, 8-4.

A rain delay caused a stoppage in the match.

"We had good momentum before the rain," Samuel said. "I think the score would have been much bigger if we would've finished the match."

Three singles matches were left unfinished due to the rain delay. But the Bucs secured three more points in singles points beginning with No. 27 Groetsch's 6-2, 6-2 win over Bronstrup. Vivas, bumped up to No. 4, beat Rogers, 6-4, 6-4. Kevin Sielmann won his No. 6 match over Ivan Vaz, 6-1, 6-1.

"We accomplished what we were hoping to do," Samuel said.

Barry plays No. 14 Hawai'i Pacific at 10 a.m. Friday.
