LAKELAND, Fla. -- Olivia Matuszak is moving on to the championship.

Barry's junior women's tennis player from Hamburg, Germany, defeated host Florida Southern's Magda Riutort, 6-1, 6-0, Saturday morning in the USTA/ITA South Regional Championships.

Matuszak, a No. 9 seed, is 5-0 in the individual tournament, and will play in Sunday morning's championship match.

"Olivia is having a very good tournament so far," Buccaneers coach Avi Kigel said. "She is focused, confident and playing well."

Barry's third-seeded doubles team of Linda Fritschken and Isabela Miro bowed out in Saturday's semifinals, losing 8-4 to Lynn's Ioana Ivan and Valentine Confalonieri, the No. 1-seeded pairs team in the tournament.

"As for the doubles team, it's their first time playing together, so they are still adjusting to one another," Kigel said. "But overall, they had a good tournament."
