MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- Barry University's No. 1 nationally-ranked men's golf team will host the eighth annual Buccaneer Golf Day Friday, Oct. 12 at Normandy Shores Golf Club in Miami Beach.

Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch served at noon. Play begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

Each group will be paired with a member of the Buccaneers top-ranked NCAA Division II team to play the 18-hole, 6,805-yard course Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer used to frequent.

Barry's 2007 National Championship team will celebrate their fifth anniversary as part of the day's activities. Members from that 2007 team will be at Normandy Shores.

A raffle for a Taylor Made R11 driver will benefit Pals for Paws.

Bucs all-time winningest head coach Jimmy Stobs, who began the season with a composite record of 1,123-419-27 (.729), a national championship and the 2007 NCAA Division II National Coach of the Year honor in the 10 previous seasons at Barry, oversees Buccaneer Golf Day.
