PENSACOLA, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers rained three-pointers on the West Florida Argonauts’ parade, rallying from an 11-point halftime deficit for a 58-55 win in the final game of the McDonald Fleming Moorhead Tip-Off Classic on Saturday at the UWF Field House.

The Bucs (2-0) were tied 8-8 after a jumper by Emily Schahczinski with 10:43 left in the first period, but went cold from the field as the Argonauts (0-2) went on an 14-3 run to close the half and took an 11-point lead into the locker room.

But in the second half, the Bucs came out firing, hitting 6-of-7 from three-point range in the first 3:30 minutes to take a 29-25 lead. After another three-pointer by Jackie Perez at the 13:57 mark, the Bucs led 32-27, their biggest of the game.

The game turned into a nip-and-tuck affair down the stretch, with eight ties and seven lead changes. With the game knotted at 53-53 with 1:51 remaining after Emily Erland hit one of two from the line, the Bucs regained the lead on their next possession as Danika Pisconeri hit a pair of free throws.

Down by three, 56-53, after a free throw from Barry’s Amanda Frontino, the Argos had the ball and a chance to tie, but Jackie Perez came up with a big steal and Colette Eule dribbled out0:13 seconds on the clock before being fouled with 5.1 seconds left. She calmly stepped to the line and sank a pair of free throws to ice the game. The Argos got a layup at the buzzer to make the final margin.

Eule led all scorers with 25 points, 22 in the second half. Perez chipped in 14, while Frontino added 12 points and 13 rebounds. Baylie Bridges led the Argos with 12 points off the bench. Jaymie Druding was the only starter for UWF in double figures with 10 points.

The Bucs return home to host the Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras Jerezanas on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 7:00 pm.
