MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers cruised to a Homecoming Week women’s basketball win over the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish 77-54 in the Health & Sports Center on Wednesday night.
The Bucs (13-10) exploded in the second half, out-scoring the ‘Fish 47-24 in the period, after the first half ended in a 30-30 tie.
Barry opened the second half with a 17-2 run and never looked back. The Bucs shot a blistering 53.6 percent from the field, including 46.2 percent from three-point range, while holding the Sailfish to just 31.0 percent from the floor.
Jackie Perez led the Bucs with 18 points and added five assists and four steals. She also had no turnovers as the Bucs committed just seven for the game. Colette Eule added 16 points and a team-high eight assists. Amanda Frontino had 15 points and Tyler Hardy added 14. Ashley Dolberry led all players with 23 points and Kimyatta McIntosh had 14 points for the Sailfish.
The Bucs travel to Tampa on Saturday.
