WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Barry senior Marco Mokrzycki has been selected Sunshine State Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week presented by VALIC.

It is Mokrzycki's second league weekly award this year. The first came exactly a month ago on Feb. 18.

Mokrzycki (Hannover, Germany) posted wins in four matches against nationally-ranked opponents in a week that saw the No. 4 Buccaneers remain undefeated (14-0) on the season. In a 5-4 thriller against NAIA No. 2 Auburn Montgomery, Mokrzycki handed No. 2 Nico Pinones-Haltenhoff his first loss of the season. Mokrzycki, who is ranked No. 7 in Division II singles, staved off Pinones-Haltenhoff 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (9-7) in an epic battle in the top flight. In the same match, he joined Fabian Groetsch, with whom he forms the No. 2 Division II doubles tandem, to down AUM's third-ranked duo of Tim Hewitt and Bence Toth 8-3. In an 8-1 win over No. 37 Northwood, Mokrzycki and Groetsch joined for an 8-3 decision over Marcus Oliveira and Lorenzo Montegiorgi. In a 6-3 victory over No. 10 Oklahoma Christian, Mokrzycki turned back No. 41 Bruno Tiberti 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) at No. 1 singles.
