WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Barry sophomore Linda Fritschken has been selected Sunshine State Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week presented by VALIC.

Fritschken (Berlin, Germany) picked up a doubles win and a singles victory as the No. 4 Buccaneers downed two NCAA Division II top-10 opponents. In a 7-0 win over No. 9 California (Pa.), Fritschken joined Kimmy Twelker for a 6-3, 6-3 doubles win over Alexandra Borgenhoff and Ramona Czakon. Fritschken then tallied a No. 3 singles win in a 5-4 upset over No. 1 Armstrong Atlantic, which ended the defending national champion Pirates' 43-match win streak. Fritschken, who is ranked No. 19 in Division II singles, posted a 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 win over No. 14 Marlen Hacke.
