WINTER PARK, Fla.—Barry’s Tyler Hardy was chosen as the Sunshine State Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Presented by VALIC by the conference office this week.

Hardy led the Buccaneers to a pair of wins at the NSU Sharks Invitational, including an 88-69 victory over #23 Shaw. The Ann Arbor, Mich., native scored a game-high 22 points with three assists, two blocks and two steals without committing a turnover. She shot 10-of-13 from the charity-stripe in the win. Against Benedict, Hardy recorded a double-double with 21 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. She shot 8-of-11 from the field in the win. Hardy averaged 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, three assists, 1.5 blocks and one steal during the week.

Hardy is the first Buccaneer to win the women’s basketball award since Yvonne Houston claimed the final one of the 2011-12 season. Hardy has scored 20+ point in three straight games now and four overall on the year. She is the only Buccaneer to have scored in double-figures all eight games. She leads the conference in scoring at 19.4 points per game and is sixth in rebounding (8.1) and fifth in field goal percentage (55.7 percent).
