MONTGOMERY, Ala.—The Barry Buccaneers (6-2) skinned the Tuskegee Golden Tigers 9-5 in baseball action from Paterson Field on Friday.

The Bucs sent 10 men to the plate and exploded for six runs in the second inning, all with two outs. Tyler Kellmann led off with a single and two outs later was at second. William Walker drilled a double over the head of Tiger leftfielder Cameron Duncan to plate Kellman. After Mike Diaz walked, Khalil Denson followed with another double over Duncan’s head and the Bucs led 3-0. Branden Shaw and Sheehan Planas-Arteaga walked to load the bases and Luis Rios-Reyes delivered a three-run double for a 6-0 lead.

After the Tigers (2-2) broke through for a run in third on Greg Moody’s RBI double, the Bucs got two runs back in the fourth. Denson and Shaw walked and worked a double steal and Planas-Arteaga drilled a two-run double down the leftfield line.

JC Cardenas made it 9-1 in the fifth with a lead-off homer, his first of the season.

The Tigers rallied for four runs in the seventh off the Buccaneer bullpen. The first four batters reached on a walk, hit batter, an error and a single to right. Blaine Duncan came on to close out the inning and went on to finish the game for his first save. He worked three hitless innings, walking one and striking out one.

Billy Atkins (1-1) worked five strong innings to earn his first win. He allow one run on four hits and a walk and struck out five. John Bryant (1-1) took the loss for the Tigers. He allowed eight runs, all earned, on five hits and five walks in 3.1 innings.
