Planas-Arteaga Rakes His Way To SSC Player of the Week

WINTER PARK, Fla. (Baseball) – Barry’s Sheehan Planas-Arteaga was selected Sunshine State Conference Baseball Player of the Week presented by VALIC.

The junior outfielder went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate against No. 5 Florida Tech hitting two home runs and walking twice. The junior scored two runs and drove in three to lead No. 18 Barry to a 14-13 10-inning win over the Panthers. Planas-Arteaga then went 3-of-5 at the plate against the University of Mary with two doubles. He scored once and drove in two runs. He finished the week going 7-of-9 (.778) at the plate, slugged 1.667 and held a .818 on-base percentage.

The Bucs play host to Palm Beach Atlantic on Tuesday, then open SSC play at home this weekend against Florida Southern.
