Rowing Falls to Nova Southeastern

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- Barry University's No. 2-ranked rowing team took second in both races of the Barry-Nova Southeastern Dual Saturday at Holland Park's intracostal waterway.

The Buccaneers Varsity 4+ boat of coxswain Stephanie Dinkel, stroke Ellie Hartman, Rebekah Kilroy, Lulu Mariscal and bow Lauren Hillard finished in 8:45.48. The Sharks won the race in 8:06.7.

The Bucs Varsity 8+ crew of cox Angela Dasch, stroke Beth Desmond, Kristina Boncheva, Sam McKenzie, Luna Ugrenovic, Jelena Momirov, Paola Girotto, Mandy Carper and bow Anais Foppoli crossed the line in 7:07.67, which was 7.97 seconds behind Nova's winning time of 6:59.7 on the 2,000-meter course.

Barry will compete in the San Diego Crew Classic at Crown Point Park next weekend.
