MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry University women’s tennis team will host one of two NCAA Division II South Regionals Saturday and Sunday at Buccaneer Tennis Center.
The Buccaneers drew a bye into Sunday’s noon championship match, and will play the winner of Saturday’s 9 a.m. semifinal between Rollins (17-6) and West Florida (23-4). Barry is the No. 1 seed in the South. Rollins earned the fourth seed, and West Florida the fifth.
The regional champion will advance to the NCAA Championships May 14-17 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla., to be hosted by the Sunshine State Conference.
This marks the fifth straight year the Bucs will host a regional to open the NCAA Tournament. Barry is making its 23rd appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Barry is coming off its fifth consecutive Sunshine State Conference Tournament title – a league record. Earlier this season, the Buccaneers claimed the first SSC regular season title.
