INDIANAPOLIS – Barry University rowing team’s Varsity 8 finished second in its heat race at the NCAA Division II Championships Friday at Eagle Creek Park.
The Buccaneers crew of coxswain Angela Dasch, stroke Kristina Boncheva, Beth Desmond, Paola Girotto, Jelena Momirov, Luna Ugrenovic, Anais Foppoli, Mandy Carper and bow Ellie Hartman crossed the finish line in 7:00.517. Nova Southeastern won the heat in 6:56.424. The Bucs finished over 26 seconds ahead of Mercyhurst.
Barry will row in Saturday’s 10:30 a.m. repechage with an opportunity to advance to Sunday’s 9:50 a.m. grand final. Watch coverage of the championships on LIVE VIDEO.
