Princess Bailey led the Buccaneers to a 2-0 mark at the NSU/Marriot Tipoff Classic, earning tournament MVP honors by averaging 19.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 4.0 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game. She posted a double-double (21 points, 10 rebounds) against the host Sharks and followed it up with a 17-point outing against Midwestern State. In the games, she shot 65 percent (13-for-20) from the field, 56 percent (5-for-9) from three-point range, and 78 percent (7-for-9) from the free throw line.

Gabe Lazo led the Bucs to a 67-53 win over the Tarzans of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. He scored 14 points with three rebounds and four assists and turned the ball over just one time in a team-high 34 minutes.
