Lucy Martinez scored 13 of her team-high 16 points in the second half as the Bucs overcame a 23-9 deficit with 16:28 to play against Eckerd. She hit three of five from three-point range in the period and drained a pair of free throws with :10 seconds left and a two-point lead which iced the game. She also played 37 minutes and turned the ball over just once from her point guard slot against the Tritons’ press.

Freshman Willie Whitfield scored a career-high 16 points off the bench at Eckerd on Saturday, his fourth straight game in double figures. He also led the team with nine rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals in 34 minutes.
