MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- Barry University's rowing team will open the fall season Saturday in a three-school regatta at Shane Rowing Center along Indian Creek Dr. in Miami Beach.
The Buccaneers will race against the University of Miami and Nova Southeastern. The Buccaneers, who qualifed for the NCAA Division II National Championships in the spring, will row at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Barry also is scheduled to row at the Head of the Hooch and FIRA regattas in successive weeks at the beginning of November. The Head of the Hooch regatta takes place in Chattanooga, Tenn., while the FIRA race will be staged in Fellsmere, Fla.
Barry returns nine veterans from last year's team.
