MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's rowing crew raised $288 Thursday for Alternative Spring Break as part of its Annual Ergathon on campus.

The money will be used to support a university group that elects not to enjoy a traditional spring break, but donates its time in other ways. The Bucs crew rowed for three hours on the machines on the lawn in front of Thompson Hall on campus Thursday afternoon.

Those still wishing to donate can do so by contacting the rowing coach Dave Sanderson at esandersson@mail.barry.edu or by sending a check to:

“I am extremely proud of the team for their efforts during the ergathon," Sanderson said. "Every member of the team contributed in a meaningful way and our captains, Kelly Harrison and Kristina Boncheva, did a fantastic job organizing this annual team community service event. We can't wait for next year's event."
