Men's Soccer Hosts SSC Tournament Quarterfinal on Tuesday

WINTER PARK, Fla. (Men’s Soccer) – With the final pairings for the 2013 Sunshine State Conference Men’s Soccer Championship now set, the Barry Buccaneers have clinched the fourth seed and will host the Florida Southern Moccasins on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 pm at Buccaneer Field.

Barry (8-8-1, 5-3-0 SSC) locked up the No. 4 seed by tallying 15 points in SSC play after shutting out Eckerd in the regular-season finale on Saturday. The Buccaneers will host Tuesday’s quarterfinal tilt against No. 5 Florida Southern. The Moccasins (5-8-1, 3-4-1 SSC) took the No. 5 seed with 10 points. The winner of the match between Barry and Florida Southern will advance to face top-seeded Saint Leo in Friday’s semifinal contest.

Lynn (9-5-1, 6-2-0 SSC) earned the No. 3 seed with 18 points and will host No. 6 Tampa in Tuesday’s other quarterfinal round match. The Spartans (6-7-3, 2-5-1 SSC) claimed the last spot in the tournament field with seven points in league play. The winner of the match between Lynn and Tampa will advance to the semifinal round to play No. 2 Rollins on Friday.

Saint Leo (13-1-1, 7-0-1 SSC) secured the No. 1 seed by posting 22 points in its SSC matches. The Lions won a thrilling 4-3 double-overtime match against Rollins Saturday night to claim the top spot. Rollins (16-1, 7-1 SSC) claimed the No. 2 seed with 21 points in conference action. Both teams will receive a quarterfinal round bye.

The semifinal round and championship match will be hosted on Friday, Nov. 8 and Sunday, Nov. 10 by the conference regular-season champion and No. 1 seed, Saint Leo.
