DAVIE, Fla. -- Ashley Carrero was ... well, Ashley Carrero. Tashalyn Begon has bloomed into another option, and Barry University's volleyball team completed the weekend sweep in a three-set win at Nova Southeastern.

The Buccaneers reached their 10th win of the season, beating the Sharks on the road, 25-20, 25-22, 25-14, Saturday night. It marked a second straight win over a rival school in as many nights after Barry beat Lynn in five sets on Friday. The Buccaneers improved to 10-14, 3-9 in the Sunshine State Conference. Nova fell to 5-18, 1-11.

Carrero had 17 kills and hit .467, while recording 10 digs in a match the Bucs attacked at a .298 clip. It was the highest hitting percentage for the Buccaneers since recording a .375 attack rate in a sweep of Valdosta State on Oct. 19. It was the 12th time this year Carrero has recorded double digit kills, and her 17 Saturday fell one shy of her season high. She also had 10 digs.

Begon finished with 10 kills. eight digs and two blocks, while hitting .261. It marked her second straight match with double figure kills, and was her highest attacking percentage this year when she recorded 10 or more kills. She hit .500 and .462 in matches earlier this year when she had seven kills on both occasions.

The Buccaneers hit .300 in the opening set and .423 in the third. The Sharks hit .242 in the first and -.032 in the third.

Jayla Trombley had seven kills and eight digs, and hit .312 in a match the Bucs and Sharks matched each other with four blocks apiece. Setter Jenny Trinidad had 32 assists, four kills and six digs.

After Carrero pounded a kill to knot the first set at 10-10, the Buccaneers trailed only once more for the remainder of the match -- at 1-0 in the third set when Nova's Samantha High delivered a kill off Barry freshman Ivana Didanovic's serve.

Barry will play at Florida Tech Tuesday night. The Bucs' final two home matches are set for Nov. 22-23 when they host Florida Southern and Saint Leo.
