DAVIE, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers banged out another win in the NSU Sharks Invitational at Nova Southeastern’s University Center on Tuesday, defeating the Benedict Tigers 82-68.

The Tigers (5-3) had the better of the early play and forged their biggest lead at 11-6 on a pair of free throws by Dot Brown with 14:08 left in the first. But, like the win against Shaw on Monday, the Bucs responded with a run of their own, out-scoring the Tigers 17-6 over the next 6:08 to go up 23-16 on a layup by Nyjah Porcher.

The Bucs (5-3) pushed the lead to as many as 12 in the first half, on a three-pointer by Colette Eule with 5:29 remaining, but settled for a seven-point margin at the break, 41-34.

The Tigers mounted another comeback out of the locker room, trimming the lead to five, 46-41, with 14:22 left in the game on free throws by Amanda Tolliver. Eule keyed a 17-4 run over the next 5:56 with eight of her game-high 22 points and the Tigers never got closer than 10 the rest of the way.

In addition to Eule, Tyler Hardy had another double-double with 21 points and 13 reounds. It was her third straight game with more than 20 points. Ines Kerin chipped in 12 points and Danika Pisconeri added 10. Tolliver led the Tigers with 19 points, hitting 10-of-11 from the line. Jasmine Stubbs added 17.

The Bucs take a break now for the holidays, but return to action on Dec. 31 at 2:00 pm hosting the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales.
