MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry University’s men’s soccer team dropped a heart-breaker to North Georgia University at Buccaneer field Friday night in 2-OT, 1-0.

Despite out-shooting the Nighthawks 19-15, including a 7-3 advantage in the second half, the Bucs (0-1-0) were never able to capitalize on their scoring opportunities.

Kris Wilkinson and Thomas Coombes were among the Buccaneers that were able to get quality looks inside the box but both teams played resistant defense and the match remained even after regulation.

In the second overtime period James Dobbing slid a pass to Amin El-Shami who connected for the game winner in the 107th minute of the match.

Johnny Rodrigues recorded seven saves in his first game action since November 2011.

Barry looks to rebound Sunday when they host another regional foe, Young Harris, at Buccaneer field starting at 1 p.m.
