Men's Soccer Sunk By 2nd-Ranked Tars

WINTER PARK, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers were sunk 2-0 by the second-ranked Rollins Tars at Sandspur Field on Saturday in Sunshine State Conference men’s soccer action.

The Tars (11-0-0, 3-0-0 SSC) staked a claim to first place in the league, getting a penalty kick from Rafa Faria in the 18th minute and an insurance goal from Grant Blackhurst in the 37th minute.

Barry keeper Johnny Rodrigues helped keep the game close with eight saves in 10 shots on goal by the Tars. The Tars’ Keniel Baker stopped both shots on goal by the Bucs (5-6-1, 2-1-0 SSC).

The Bucs return home to host the 10th-ranked Saint Leo Lions on Monday, Oct. 14 at 7:00 pm.
