Rafael Ferreiro comes to Barry after having founded and serving as President of Pure Football LLC, a soccer training academy in South Florida. A native of South Florida, Ferreiro has gained experience as a player and a coach at various different levels. He played collegiately at Florida International University for one year before transferring to Nova Southeastern University for the remainder of his career where he also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and International Business.

After concluding his collegiate career, Ferreiro continued to play professionally overseas with Racing de Ferrol (Spain Second Division), where he played for six months and was then sent on loan to third Division club Naron F.C. where they were proclaimed division champs. After Spain, Rafael then had a short stint in Uruguay with First Division club, Sportivo Cerrito.

Ferreiro is the current Head Trainer for Pure Soccer Academy and the Head Coach for the Boys Varsity Soccer Team at Cardinal Gibbons High School.

Ferreiro holds a USSF "A" License, NSCAA Premier Diploma "A" and UEFA"C"/English FA Level 2 Coaching Badge.
