Pam McDonald joins the Buccaneer coaching staff this season. One of the stars of Barry’s Sunshine State Conference title run in the first half of the decade, McDonald is one of the top players in school history.
Playing from 1999 to 2002, she led the Bucs to a 68-9-1 mark, including 29-0 in the Sunshine State Conference, and four straight SSC titles. She scored 29 goals, good for 13th in program history, and set the school record as a senior with her 39th assist, now good for second-best.
The Bucs made the NCAA Tournament all four years, including hosting the final four in 1999 and 2000.
McDonald was a four-time First-Team All-SSC pick in the midfield and earned NSCAA All-America honors in 2001 and 2002.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education from Barry in 2003 and a master’s degree in special education from Florida Memorial in 2010.
She currently teaches physical education at Doral Academy Charter, where she also coaches the boys soccer team. She led the girls team from 2003-2007, before taking over the boys team. She led the Phoenix to three district championships and was named the Coach of the Year in Dade County for girls in 2006.
